I established a procedure in which I would isolate the elements to disconnect them from its reference or function, giving me the possibility of observing its components individually.
When applying this procedure to a concrete drawing, —in this case a drawing of my living room— the isolation of elements consisted in:
-Room – individual objects in room (what constitutes the living-room) – single lines or motives of objects in room.
Once I extracted these single lines or motives, I rebuilt and reconnected new relations and dynamics between lines, which then became new drawings.
The procedure allowed me to freely compose an image where the lines had no ambition but to be lines, meaning, that their function would be discovered only once the drawing was finished.
The question in hand was: what happens if I abstract the elements from their context and release the line from its reference?
