Last Radio

2022
for piano, cassette and broadcaster

“The world ended abruptly, yet predictably. There is not much left, but a single radio signal broadcasting live from the end of the world.”

“Last radio” is a piece for piano, broadcaster, and tape that uses the format of a radio program to present music within a story. It is set in a post-apocalyptic scenario where the few survivors left make efforts to keep a radio program running. With only a piano and dusty cassette tapes rescued from remains, the broadcaster and pianist are dedicated to remembering and recreating the music of the world before its destruction. These attempts are not only to hold on to the culture and history of humanity, now lost forever, but also to bring hope and joy to those who might be listening.
